Fire

On Tuesday August 5th at 2:15pm SFD was tapped no a Wildland fire on Pleasant Hill Rd. Due to the large column of smoke and the weather conditions a 2nd alarm was called immediately. As the fire progressed another alarm was called for relief crews. This fire was contained and was in mop up stage at 3:00pm. All units had returned to their stations by 4:00pm.

While crews were cleaning up from the first fire another one was called in at the same location at 4:30pm. Upon arrival crews found that the fire they were now facing was a completely different fire at the same location. Again due to the amount of smoke and weather conditions the duty officer went to a second alarm immediately. Upon his arrival this fire was larger and he requested a third alarm quickly. The fire was contained and extinguished by 6:00pm. Both fires were in wheat stubble/wind rows and damaged approximately 45 acres according to Oregon Department of Forestry.
